- Two recent jet-boat accidents on the upper Pitt River, northeast of Vancouver, have prompted calls for a ban on power-operated watercraft on the Pitt. One of the accidents resulted in the death of a well-known fly angler of the area, Ron Hjorth. “This may upset a few people, but it’s time to have that river listed as unnavigable, just because it eats so many boats,” Kelly Davison, owner of Sea-Run Fly & Tackle.
