Dates for International Fly Fishing Fair Announced

Dates have been announced for the 48th annual International Fly Fishing Fair, set to be held September 26-28 in West Yellowstone, Montana, and featuring a range of activities from workshops and demonstrations to an exhibit hall and casting competition.

International Fly Fishing Fair Sept. 26-28 at West Yellowstone

Fly Casting enthusiasts from across the country and around the world will be meeting in West Yellowstone, Montana on September 26-28 for the International Federation of Fly Fishers (IFFF) 48 th annual International Fly Fishing Fair.

Attend one or more of the 36 workshops, all presented by IFFF Master Casting instructors and Board of Governors at a fraction of the normal retail cost. Workshop topics include basic skill development, accuracy, distance, presentation casts, double hauling, practice strategies, backcast improvement, saltwater casting, mends, curves, dealing with the wind, and even a class on casting mechanics for casting geeks. And more! This is your chance to improve your fly casting and meet with some of the worlds best Casting Instructors for both single and two handed casting.

Steve Hollensed the show Casting Chair recommends the “Casting Rendezvous” for all things casting to be held all day on Friday. Fault correction, one-on-one, instructor time, ask the experts, anything related to casting is a reason to stop by and talk with casting experts. And it is FREE.

Think you are a good fly caster then try your hand at “The 5-Weight Games”. A competition involved accuracy and distance with a 5 wt lines. Great prizes will be awarded. (We are talking rods and reels here) Casting demonstrations will be held at the casting pond behind the Union Pacific Dining Lodge. These will be very informative, practical, educational and FREE!

The fly fishing fair features exhibits with the latest in gear, outfitters, conservation information and other topics. Why not try out your new gear fishing the Madison, Firehole, Lamar Rivers, and the other local world class waters of Yellowstone Park.

Registration is at the Union Pacific Dining Lodge, 200 Yellowstone Ave, West Yellowstone, MT; Show day passes are available at registration for $10. Fees vary for workshops.
