Recovery Bags for Bonefish

While most bonefish angling is strictly catch and release, there is nonetheless a mortality rate due to recovery time in predator-rich environments. A group of concerned scientists have recently published their study the use of recovery bags post-release in the February issue of Journal of Experimental Marine Biology and Ecology

. “Retaining bonefish in recovery bags improved swimming abilities during the critical time period where the majority of post-release predation occurs,” concludes the abstract.
