Lawsuit Against Stocking in California
According to environmental watch groups, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife is stocking fish via airplane in Humboldt and Lake County waters without the necessary permit. Citing the Clean Water Act and concern over non-native species, Montana-based Wilderness Watch, along with local fishermen, have filed a lawsuit against the state department for violation of the act, and alteration of “the physical integrity of the lakes.”
