Lefty Kreh Talks to The Baltimore Sun
On Monday, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources will name a seven mile trail at Gunpowder Falls State Park in honor of Lefty Kreh, the angling legend who is often credited with popularizing fly fishing. His outdoor column in The Baltimore Sun played a large part in that and the Maryland paper recently spoke to Kreh about his career.
Kreh discusses the difficulty of fly fishing before the invention of the Deceiver, the motivation for popularizing the sport, as well as its current status. Summing up his career, Kreh said: “I know my inabilities, so I know that I’m not that impressed with me. I just hope people enjoy what I did.”
