Pennsylvania Volunteers Discover New Trout Populations

Today the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission will vote on the designation of 98 streams statewide as Naturally Reproducing Wild Trout Waters, thanks in part to the effort of volunteer anglers who have begun providing data on the more than 45,000 streams that have never been studied by state biologists. As John Hayes writes in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the data could also prove critical in monitoring the impact of oil shale drilling.
