Stream Access Rights Group Files Suit Against Utah
“The Utah Stream Access Coalition, a nonprofit group created to preserve public access to the state’s waterways, filed a lawsuit Friday challenging the constitutionality of Public Waters Access Act, which was passed by the Legislature in 2010.” Oxana Orellana and Peter S. Lozancich reported in the Salt Lake Tribune that the group, made up primarily of anglers, is asking that property owners be forbidden from impeding access to waterways, and that law enforcement stop penalizing those who use the state’s rivers and streams.
