Google Earth, Local Journalists Track Oil Spill
The crooked finger of oil that just reached Louisiana’s Chandeleur Islands in the Breton National Wildlife Refuge Tuesday is clearly outlined in Google’s new Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill page.
Meanwhile the Louisiana Bucket Brigade is keeping track of local events, coordinating citizen journalists, and indexing all the major news stories and pictures at http://oilspill.labucketbrigade.org.
Late last night the AP released this video showing the lowering of a giant concrete and steel box meant to help cap off one of the two remaining gushers of oil.
