Scientific Anglers Promotes Wierenga, Frederixon

Yesterday 3M Scientific Anglers announced that 10-year SA veteran Jeff Wierenga had been promoted to sales and marketing manager for the fly fishing product manufacturer. “Following his stint as business development manager for Scientific Anglers and nine years prior to that in the 3M lab working on new product development, Wieringa will now oversee all sales, marketing and product mix for Scientific Anglers business worldwide. He’ll be the key contact for all international distributors and sales channels outside the U.S. and Canada.”
Peter Frederixon, formerly national key account sales manager, was promoted to sales supervisor.

NEW RESPONSIBILITIES FOR WIERINGA AND FREDERIXON AT 3M SCIENTIFIC ANGLERS
ST. PAUL, Minn. 3/3/09 – For immediate release – Taking on added responsibilities for the 3M Sports and Leisure Products Scientific Anglers brand, Jeff Wieringa has been named sales and marketing manager, while Peter Frederixon is the new sales supervisor, announces Carlos Olivera, 3M Sports and Leisure business manager.
Following his stint as business development manager for Scientific Anglers and nine years prior to that in the 3M lab working on new product development, Wieringa will now oversee all sales, marketing and product mix for Scientific Anglers business worldwide. He’ll be the key contact for all international distributors and sales channels outside the U.S. and Canada.
Wieringa has more than 20 years of experience in the fly fishing business, including owning J.W. Outfitters where he designed and engineered the industry’s first fly-fishing chest packs and other innovative gear. His efforts at Scientific Anglers includes being the development team lead on the Sharkskin process for fly lines, along with design work on waterproof fly boxes.
With 3M in various sales positions for nine years, including the past year with Scientific Anglers as the national key account sales manager, Frederixon adds sales responsibilities for independent fly shops and fishing tackle dealers. He becomes the key contact for all Scientific Anglers’ manufacturer reps in the U.S. and Canada.
Both based at 3M Center in St. Paul, Wieringa and Frederixon will work closely with the Scientific Anglers customer/dealer service and lab staff in St. Paul, along with the product manufacturing staff in Midland, Mich.
