Gordon Wickstrom suggests that maybe, for one month of the year, the fish deserve a break. “But what of our rainbows and cutthroat? Well, poor devils, they’re using up good belly meat to fill themselves up with roe and milt for their spawn in late winter or spring. So, our trout are also ‘out of condition’ and probably best left alone in December.
