Tying a Polish Woven Nymph

Producer: Michael Yelton  |  The Granddaddy Fly Fishing Experience

“It’s going to take a little bit of practice,” tier Michael Yelton says as he demonstrates tying a Polish Woven Nymph. “You might not get it on the first try, but go slow and try a couple different flies.”

    Michael,
I like your method for remembering the weaving sequence – cover the belly, cross your threads, cover the back…
    Nice.
    Please keep em coming!

    Michael,
I’d guess that the embroidery thread comes in different sizes.  Which did you use here?  Would you please also recommend other sizes also, for larger & smaller flies.

      Hey Jay,

I was using DMC 25. Here is a website http://www.dmc.com/ you can get it at Michael’s.
For smaller flies just take the thread and separate it and use the smaller diameter thread to weave.
