The annual “Hell or High Water” fly fishing festival will be held April 10-11 at the West Branch Angler Resort in Hancock, NY. Activities include an Orvis 101 program, tying demonstrations, and a viewing of the 2015 Fly Fishing Film Tour.

Hell or High Water – The Catskills Celebrate The Coming Spring with Fly Fishing, Film, Music and Beer Festival 4/10 – 4/11

Hancock, NY — “Hell or High Water” is an annual fly fishing, beer, music and film festival held at West Branch Angler & Resort. The idea is to bring new people into the sport of fly fishing, celebrate the Catskills, the beginning of Spring and a new fly fishing season. The festival is free to the public and an event you won’t want to miss. The festival supports both Trout Unlimited and Project Healing Waters.

Simms Kick Off Party: 4/10 7:00pm Join us at the River Run Restaurant as we kick off the season at the resort. Featuring live music by Milkweed starting at 9:00pm.

Learn to Fly Fish for Free with Orvis 101: This is an amazing program put on by the Orvis company learn to fly fish with a professional instructor completely free. This year we offer both women’s only and coed classes. The fly fishing 101 class is free to attend but online registration is required. See our website for details.

Brewfest & Jam: 4/11 1:00 – 5:00 Back for it’s second year the Brewfest was an amazing success last year. We are building on the momentum and have 3 bands lined up for this year’s event! Headlining will be Richie Stearns and Rosie Newton, followed by Milkweed and the Falconers. Taste craft beers from great breweries such as Tröegs ,Galaxy Brewing and Roscoe Brewery. Food for the Brewfest will be provided by Hancock Bakery and River Run Restaurant. Tickets are required and can be purchased online or at the event must be 21 to drink.

The Fly Fishing Film Tour: 4/11 7:00pm The fly fishing film tour is a 2.5 hour series of short independent films centered around fly fishing. The goal of the Fly Fishing Film Tour is to energize the industry and inspire filmmakers to create new cutting edge films to both entertain and educate outdoor enthusiasts. Tickets are 10.00 in advance and 15.00 at the door.

Women’s Showcase: New for 2015 we will have a showcase of all the new women’s fly fishing gear and meet a meet and greet with top women professional from Patagonia, Orvis and Simms. Event runs 11:00am – 1:00pm please RSVP online.
