Cutthroat Genetics

The stocking of cutthroat trout in Colorado has a complicated history. And the publication of new research about the genetics of the Greenback Cutthroat Trout in 2007 has raised even more questions.  In the first article in a series on Colorado Headwaters Fisheries Management, Jon Ewert, fisheries biologist in Grand and Summit counties, explains history, current implications, and impacts for fisheries management in the future in light of the new research.
