Sam Lacina's Limited Edition Trout Nets

April 28, 2007 By: Marshall Cutchin

56-year-old pediatric cardiologist Sam Lacina produces what many consider to be heirloom-quality nets in his home woodshop. “t was a hobby to help cope with the stress of fixing hearts of infants for a living, a way to channel his creative energy. But the same attention to fine detail that makes him successful in his medical practice also has brought approbation of the sort artisans dream of.” His nets sell for as much as $800 and will be a part of Orvis’s new offerings in collectible fishing items this fall.
