“The Day I Disremembered”

Producer: Chris J Hanson

“Everyone has a reason as to why they fly fish. For some it can be as simple as they just enjoy fly fishing. For others, it can be much more complicated. This is my story.

“The fifteen minutes weren’t near enough. This needs to be a novel. This needs to be a feature length film. Chris’ story had me and left me wanting more of it. Beautiful story and amazing visuals to go with it.” – Josh Stewart who played Det. William LaMontagne Jr. from Criminal Minds. John Pilgrim from the The Punisher. Arkin from the The Collector series.

A fly fishing film that I submitted to the 2021 F3T fly fishing film festival and was very grateful that I made the top 20 but unfortunately I didn’t make the final cut. At that point I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with the film but after taking a step back I realized that my goal in going through this process was not for F3T. It was to tell my story. How I got into fly fishing and the role that fly fishing plays in my life. F3T was just a bonus. Yes, one I really wanted but it wasn’t to be. So I decided to release it on my own.

After going through a scary episode of Transient Global Amnesia, I needed something to disrupt the path that I was on. TGA is a sudden episode of memory loss that the medical community doesn’t know a whole lot about but it does have some common threads. Stress and migraines. Being a business owner, I have stress in my life and I also suffer from severe migraines. I needed to reduce my stress and stop working nonstop. And that’s where fly fishing came into my life. This is my story.”
