How to Treat Trout Well While Filming a Release Video
“We’ve taken a ton of photos and videos during our fly fishing. Our evolution has seen us go from 10 seconds of handling and out of water time to 5 seconds, down to our current 3 seconds. However, warm weather and water conditions of peak summer spells trouble and we find ourselves either releasing trout from the net with no photos or we do as we share in this video – use the high frame rate settings on our camera to maximize possible video from a few seconds of handling. In this video we share how we consider the fish and how to properly plan to shoot a quick video with settings on our camera as well as in fish handling. It isn’t difficult and can do wonders for our trout. Again, this isn’t an absolute but it is a good step in the next generation of fish photography & videography. Remember, not every fish has to be captured in photos or video.”
