Photographer Surface Film II – Fly Fishing Photo Gallery

Surface Film showcases top professional fly-fishing photographers from around the country, highlighting their passion for fishing and incredible creativity. Sponsored by Trout Unlimited and run by the Greenbacks of TU, it includes a gallery showing at Anthology Fine Art, online viewing and purchasing here on MidCurrent, and a spread in TROUT Magazine prominently featuring the best-in-show and runner-up.

At Anthology Fine Art, the artists pulled out their best work  for hundreds of passionate anglers, photographers, and people who just like a good time. At the opening and closing events everyone listened to great music, had a few beers, and voted for best-in-show and runner-up awards.

The show also helped sustain fly fishing by raising thousands of dollars directly the Greenbacks. The Greenbacks are a group of TU members developing new ways to engage the next generation of passionate anglers and cold water conservationists by holding events such as movie premiers, youth education, and even things as simple as happy hours..

Surface Film is their premier event and this year the Greenbacks presented the winner, Copi Vojta and his piece “Vessel” with TU’s “National Fly Fishing Professional Photograph of the Year” award, a cash prize, and a guaranteed cover for the artist in TROUT Magazine in a future issue. The runner-up, Kenny Smith and his piece “Concentration” received a cash prize and will be featured in an article in TROUT.
