Harrop Ant Fly Tying Instructions

Producer: Michael Falkoff

“The Harrop (CDC) Ant was invented by Rene Harrop. This little bug is quickly becoming a ‘go-to’ fly in my box. I found this fly after researching what patterns work in Yellowstone National Park in the late summer/early fall. I kept coming across mentions of ‘honey ants.’ After searching YouTube, I found Charlie Craven’s video of him tying this particular bug and whipped a few up. I did change the wing from the original duck wing to a CDC wing. The fish didn’t seem to mind.”
