McGuane Honored with Emeritus Award
Following his induction into the Fly Fishing Hall of Fame at the Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum earlier this October, acclaimed author Tom McGuane was honored with the Emeritus Award at the High Plains Book Awards this past Saturday in Billings Montana.
And while such an honor often comes late in a writer’s career, he “seems to be closer to the peak of his writing than at the end,” writes Mary Pickett in an interview with McGuane in The Billings Gazette, talking everything from ranching and screenplays, to western literature’s focus and a penchant for M&Ms. Tom McGuane is on the editorial board of MidCurrent.
