Book Review: “Fly Fishing for Sea-Run Cutthroat”
“It needed to be written,” writes Doug Rose of Chester Allen’s book Fly Fishing for Sea-Run Cutthroat. It is a “real book”, not a “pumped up photo-essay masquerading as a book,” according to Rose. Allen’s book is not the first on this very specific subject. In fact a previous work, Les Johnson’s Fly-Fishing for Coastal Cutthroat Trout, is often referred to as the authoritative source on coastal cutthroat.
But Allen’s book brings something new to the conversation. Made up of 20 essay chapters, the book if filed with practical advice sure to please any coastal cutthroat angler.
