One-Handed Tenkara
Accessibility is one of the many benefits of simplifying gear, as Salt Lake City-based The Tenkara Guides show in their work introducing fly fishing to people with physical hurdles to overcome. “It is amazing to see the powerful connection of simple joy radiate from within these people because of something as simple as fishing,” says guide John Vetterli. “With such minimal gear and no reels, there is no reason that upper extremity amputees cannot be totally independent on the water.”
