History of Speycasting
Speycasting has a prestigious pedigree. But few probably recognize the name of Alexander Grant, who set the standard in the late nineteenth century. “By combining an unorthodox technical approach to tackle design and unquestionable ability as a caster, in his lifetime, Grant took the art of Speycasting to an unprecedented level,” writes Eoin Fairgrieve. You can read more about his life, achievements, and contributions to the sport in an article on Salmon Junkies. And now the only question left, Fairgrieve says, is “what distance could he throw with modern tackle.”
