How Fly Fishing for Carp Helps the Trout Angler
Perhaps counterintuitive to some, the recent surgance in carp fishing might actually be of benefit to trout, states Kirk Deeter in a recent piece about these “strange bedfellows.” Getting folks interested in fly fishing, getting them out, and getting them passionate about habitat is what’s important. Whether that comes through a muddy flat or high country stream, it’s all good, writes Deeter: “I’m not saying that carp will be gateway fish for future trout anglers, but then again, I’m not ruling that out.”
