Music and Fly Fishing, Clean Water Act Amendment, Ancient Fishing Basket Traps

  • “Being alone, having physical and mental space to sort out new thoughts and ideas helped me get into a new vibe,” says musician Joel Ford of his new EP, “Trus,” which has largely been influenced by his passion for wilderness and fly fishing.
  • The U.S. House of Representatives has rejected an amendment to the Clean Water Act which would have enabled clarification on administration in regards to small streams and wetlands. “This is particularly disappointing to sportsmen,” says Steve Moyer, Trout Unlimited’s vice president of government affairs.
  • Swedish archaeologists have found what are thought to be the oldest fishing basket traps on record. Carbon dating of one of the baskets have revealed them to be around around 9,000 years old.
