Red Water Brook Trout
“I go fly fishing alone a lot, at least ever since Andrew moved out west. And I do enjoy it just purely because I can fish how I want to fish and, of course, I get first shot at every hole or run. But admittedly there’s something special about being able to share the cool moments you have on the water with the people in your life. Doing things like taking your girlfriend and watching her catch some of her first trout on the fly, or taking the day off to fish with your buddies can be.. well.. incredible.
Cool mornings make the fish happy, at least from a water temperature perspective. But it can make the first few hours in the morning tough at best. It’s always slightly frustrating, switching from fly to fly trying to figure it out and not really seeing any results, but it always eventually turns around. I hope you guys enjoyed this summer fishing adventure. Cool mornings in August are hard to come by and spending time with friends on the water is priceless. Enjoying these beautiful native brook trout in small mountain creeks is also a treat I don’t take for granted.”
