Fly Tying: “Think Like a Surgeon”

Tim Flagler says that if you want to be a great fly tier, you need to think like a surgeon, using much of the same preparation and forethought. “If you start to think like a surgeon, these thing become very obvious. First of all, like a surgeon, you absolutely need to see what you are doing, and this requires plenty of light. Ideally, you also want the correct quality of light.”
