Jose Wejebe Remembered

On Sunday April 15, 2012, the International Game Fish Association (IGFA) will honor the life and legacy of recently deceased saltwater fishing ambassador Jose Wejebe.  The event will be held at the IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame & Museum at 1:30 PM.

Jose Wejebe was a Florida Keys guide in the 1980s and 90s and went on to become the host of the long-running television series “Spanish Fly.”  He died Friday, April 6, when his kit plane crashed into a field shortly after take-off from Everglades Airpark in Everglades City.  Read MidCurrent publisher Marshall Cutchin’s personal comments.
