Tippets: Bristol Bay Guide Academy, Catching Tailwater Brown Trout
- The 8th Annual Bristol Bay River Guide Academy was recently held at BBNC’s Mission Lodge in Aleknagik. Local youth ages 14 through 24 “learned the ins-and-outs of the fly fishing industry, everything from boat safety and biology, to fly-tying and customer service.” Via KDLG.
- From gear to retrieve techniques, Blane Chocklett writes about how to find and catch big brown trout in tailwaters. “While most fly fishers set their watches to the hatch, another cadre of big-fish hunters keeps close tabs on releases and flows to give them the opportunity to catch a unicorn.” Read more via Fly Fisherman.
