Smallmouth on the Thornapple
Howard Myerson profiles rodmaker Mike Zalewski, owner of Shelbyville Rod Co., who finds some of his favorite fishing on Michigan’s Thornapple River.
“‘There are a few locals who fish it with spinning gear, but in the last five years I’ve only seen one other guy fly fishing it. The typical fish here is 10 inches to 14 inches and I’ve caught them up to 19 inches, weighing four pounds, all on flies,’ Zalewski said.” On MLive.com.
