“My Grandpa’s Bamboo Fly Rod”
“The tighter you hold on to something the harder it is to let go.
I am fully aware of how cliché this sounds but it’s really true. The way in which I run my life, things do not last long. I use things like tools and try not to hold sentimental value on them.. because as easy as they may come.. as easy as they will go.
This just so happens to be one of the rare things I truly cherish. The rod itself is a piece of art and a marvel of technology. The reel is a perfectly preserved relic of fly fishing history and culture long forgotten. But underneath those surface-level feelings are deep layers of the people behind the rod and everything they have done for me.
I hope you enjoy this story. It sits a bit closer to my heart than most.”
