Sight-Fishing Rainbow Trout on a Gravel Shelf

Producer: Jensen Fly Fishing

“The art of sight-fishing, or spotting trout, allows you to target individual trout, to hone in on what that trout is doing. In this video, Dave gives a solid display of sight-fishing rainbow trout, picking off shapes, color and movement of the rainbow trout lined up and feeding on dry flies and nymphs on a gravel shelf on the inside of a run on a large river. The rainbow trout were dancing on this day and the bright sun mixed with clouds kept a few mayflies hatching long enough to keep the rainbows happy. This is a great introduction to how effective sight-fishing can be. Dave walks you through what he’s looking for in sight-fishing rainbow trout with dry flies and dropper nymphs.”
