How to Tie Jorgensen’s Dirty Bird Intruder
Producer: Fly Fish Food
Back in November, we posted Kubie Brown’s excellent article on how and why you should fish Intruder flies, and this is an excellent pattern that features all the characteristics that Kubie loves. A.J. Jorgensen of Fly Fish Food walks us through the steps to create the Dirty Bird, which is much easier to tie than it looks. And the result is elegant, offers tons of action in the water, and is easy to cast. Here’s what A.J. has to say about it:
The dirty bird bug is a great swing fly for trout species. You can swing it on a trout Spey or single hand. The dirty bird adds a lot of movement and flow with the ostrich wing. I love to pulse or pump this fly when it’s tight on the swing.
