How to Tie Tim Flagler’s Parachute March Brown

Tim Flagler of Tightline Productions was a featured tier at the Denver Fly Fishing Show, and he walked us through his version of a parachute March-brown imitation. He is a strong believer that a mottled body looks more realistic, and he also demonstrates his twisted-yard posting method. here’s lots to learn here.

March Brown Parachute
Hook: Dry-fly hook, size 10 or 12.
Thread: White, 10/0 or 50-denier.
Tail: Wood-duck flank fibers
Post: White polypropylene floating yarn.
Abdomen: Tan and brown rabbit-fur dubbing.
Thorax: Brown rabbit-fur dubbing.
Hackle: Grizzly and cream hackles.
Adhesive: Sally Hansen Hard-as-Nails
