Henry’s Fork Anglers marks its 50th anniversary with a week of programming August 10–15 at Elk Creek Ranch in Idaho. Founder Mike Lawson delivers “50 Years on the Henry’s Fork” on Thursday, August 13, and the week wraps Friday, August 14 with a panel of former guides spanning the shop’s five decades. Kris Millgate opens Monday with a women-in-fly-fishing panel, followed by casting and fishing instruction from HFA general manager Chris Lawson and a photography seminar from Brian O’Keefe midweek. Reunion tickets are available through the shop.
The 45th FIPS-Mouche World Fly Fishing Championship runs September 13–18 in Idaho Falls, with competition across the South Fork of the Snake, the Henry’s Fork, and stillwaters spanning Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. USAngling announced the U.S. team on June 20, returning the same lineup that took team bronze in France in 2024 and Czechia in 2025, two of only four team medals the United States has ever earned at Worlds. More than 100 anglers from around the world are entered.
The following weekend, FFI FlyFest comes to the Redding Civic Auditorium in Northern California, running September 24–26. Fly Fishers International has The Fly Shop as presenting sponsor and George Daniel among the headline instructors, with casting, tying, and conservation programming built around a consumer trade-show floor. The same Saturday, September 26, the second annual RISE: A Fly Fishing Festival returns to Asheville, North Carolina. The one-day event at Wrong Way Campground on the French Broad runs alongside a guide expo through Borne from Blue Lines, aimed at Western North Carolina and Tennessee outfitters still rebuilding client bases after Hurricane Helene. Further out, the 35th International Fly Tying Symposium moves to the Lancaster County Convention Center in Pennsylvania on November 21–22. Director Chuck Furimsky announced the venue change after the DoubleTree Somerset, the symposium’s longtime New Jersey home, closed permanently in August 2026. The show now shares a building with the Lancaster Fly Fishing Show, which returns March 13–14, 2027.
