Umpqua Feather Merchants has launched Swiftlink, a four-pack collection, alongside Link, a modular magnetic accessory system that connects pack and tools through a proprietary baseplate.
The system centers on the Link Base Station, a magnetic mount that clips onto Swiftlink packs or any standard webbing. From there, anglers snap on accessories: the HatchPad (a magnetic fly dock), GearDock (a tool station for nippers, forceps, and hemostats), DryDock (a snap-off floatant holder sized for bottles like Dry Magic and Shimi Shake), Tippet Tower (a vertical stacker that holds up to six spools), and HatchVault (a fly deck with foam inside and a magnetic pad on top). Every Swiftlink pack ships with a Base Station and a HatchPad.
The Swiftlink line covers four carry styles:
- Ledges Waist Pack — $229.99. Three full-length zippered pockets, capacity for 12 Umpqua fly boxes, 12 Link ports, two water-bottle holders, and a net-slot pass-through. 11.5 liters / 700 cubic inches.
- Overlook Chest Pack — $229.99. A high-carry chest pack with 12 Link ports.
- Steamboat Sling Pack — $199.99. A high-capacity sling aimed at Spey and switch anglers who want storage without giving up line of sight or range of motion. The main compartment holds six large fly boxes; a secondary pocket handles smaller boxes and organization. 10 Link ports.
- ThunderCreek Chest Pack — $149.99. The most compact of the four, with a main compartment for six large boxes, plus a flat back panel that includes a zippered pocket and a net slot. 10 Link ports.
Umpqua, based in Louisville, Colorado, says Swiftlink draws on five generations of pack design at the company. The Link accessories are also sold separately and work with any pack, vest, or boat bag that has standard webbing, so anglers can buy into the magnetic platform without committing to a new pack.
Standalone Link prices start at $19.99 for a Base Station 2-pack, with HatchPads at $24.99 (single) and $44.99 (double). The full lineup is available now at umpqua.com and through the company’s dealer network.
