The International Fly Fishing Film Festival (IF4) runs its 2026 world tour through the fall, with more than a dozen stops between Kingston, Ontario on August 19 and Akron, Ohio on November 22. Most are hosted by local Trout Unlimited chapters, fly shops, and conservation groups. The 2026 lineup includes films from Fly Fishing Nation, BlackFlyEyes, and Off the Grid Studios.
The New York DEC and State Parks hold the seventh annual Women’s Fly-Fishing Expo at Connetquot River State Park Preserve in Islip, Suffolk County, on Saturday, September 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The free event is run primarily by women anglers and fisheries professionals, with a trout hatchery tour and instruction in fly tying, casting, knots, and marine fishing on the Connetquot. Fly casting and fishing are limited to participants 16 and older, and pre-registration is required before September 4 by phone at (631) 444-0283 or by email to [email protected]. An $8 vehicle fee applies; parking is free for Empire Passport holders.
The American Museum of Fly Fishing opens Foundations in Flow: The Four Pillars of Fly Fishing, a new exhibition on flies, reels, rods, and the arts, at its Open House Festival Weekend October 16-17 in Manchester, Vermont. Saturday programming includes talks on Louis Rhead and Mary Orvis Marbury, a rod maker panel, a Matt Smythe writing workshop, and a morning Battenkill tree planting with Southwestern Vermont TU. Museum admission is free.
The Fly Fishing Show opens the winter and spring 2027 circuit at Marlborough, Massachusetts January 15-17, before heading to Edison January 22-24, Denver February 5-7, Pleasanton February 26-28, and Lancaster March 13-14.
FLOW Fest Expo, a new fly-fishing and outdoor lifestyle event, debuts March 13-14, 2027 at the Crowne Plaza Resort Asheville in North Carolina, the same weekend as the Lancaster Fly Fishing Show. Founders Emily Mauri, Michael Mauri, Cat Loos, and Emma Mauri have organized the inaugural weekend around six themed zones rather than a traditional show floor: fly-fishing exhibitors, a Learning Center, Destination Village, a Maker’s Market, a casting pond, and a Wellness and Recovery Lounge.
