  • Stocked fish and wild fish behave and feed differently. In a recent article Zach Matthews outlines ten good strategies for stalking wild fish, whether cutthroats in the West or brook trout in the East, via Itinerant Angler.
  • The science is in, writes S. Chris Hunt, and beavers are beneficial for trout. And while historically it hasn’t always been agreed upon, “It’s good to see that science, agriculture and recreation are coming around to the beneficial impacts beavers can have on watersheds, both for the good of the environment and the good of the fishing,” writes Hunt.
