West Denver TU’s Annual Fly Tying Clinic

The West Denver Chapter of Trout Unlimited is holding its 39th Annual Fly Tying Clinic at the Jefferson Country Fairgrounds on Saturday, Febraurary 14th, 2015. The event will feature tiers such as Charlie Craven, Pat Dorsey, and Jay Zimmerman.

West Denver Chapter’s 39th Annual Fly Tying Clinic

On February 14th, West Denver is holding its 39th Annual Fly Tying Clinic at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. This Clinic is the premier event of its kind in the Denver metropolitan area.

At this Clinic, we’ll feature about 60 of the best tiers from the Rocky Mountain region, including local luminaries such as Rim Chung, Charlie Craven, Pat Dorsey, and Greg Garcia. In addition to the tiers, we’ll have door prizes, a silent auction, a bucket raffle, a beginners’ fly tying table, a table selling fly tying materials, and our Fantasy Raffle (a package worth approximately $4,400 which you can win with a $5 ticket). We’ll serve soft drinks, brats and the best sloppy joes you’ll ever taste.

The event kicks off at 9:30 AM and closes at 2:30 PM. Tickets are $15 for adults with kids 12 and under allowed in for free (if you pick up a discount coupon from one of the local fly shops, you get $2 off the regular price). So, learn how to tie from the masters. And, you may want to buy some great flies for your fly box arsenal (the proceeds from which help to fund our conservation and education efforts).
