  • Winter fishing brings its own set of unique frustrations. And in a recent piece on Hatch Magazine, Ben Kryzinski wonders whether tenkara might be the answer for at least a few of the challenges of cold weather fishing.
  • The Nooksack River has been closed to fishing to protect hatchery fish. Osprey Steelhead News has a good exposition on this recent decision by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. “Until we emphasize the protection of wild fish and the fisheries they can support we’ll continue to squander millions of dollars a year all in the name of perpetuating a broken system of hatcheries and river closures.”
