Epic Rod Build Update: Getting Started…

A few weeks ago I launched into a rod building project.  My first…. Since then I had a pile of work that was unexpected and I’ve been slow to get back to the rod. So I’m basically starting anew and getting down to business this week. The rod in question is from Swift Fly Fishing and is one of their Epic “Fast Glass” blanks.  Specifically it’s their 4 wt, 7′ 6″ “Nude”-colored blank.

The blank  comes in a kit with literally almost everything you need to finish the rod, even handy dandy built-in rod-wrapping stands. This short video is what Swift recommends grabbing before starting any rod build—a few ancillary items that will make your life easier.
