Springtime Shad

The annual spawning run of American shad is a rite of spring for anglers on the Delaware River.  From the use of net to a rod and reel, anglers line up for this tradition that goes back centuries, cheering on this native species, which has made a comeback after massive pollution of the river at the turn of the century.
