Water Flows in Colorado River Delta for First Time in 50 Years
The gates at Morelos Dam on the Mexico-Arizona border were opened on Sunday March 23, allowing water to flow into the Colorado River Delta for the first time in over fifty years. “It took a long time for the institutions that manage the Colorado River to make this happen,” writes Jennifer Pitt on National Geographic NewsWatch. “Now we have the chance to see how long it takes the river to move downstream, and how far it goes.”
