The Madison River Foundation Names New Executive Director

The Madison River Foundation’s Board of Directors has announced C. Hans Figi has been named Executive Director. “We believe Hans has the right combination of skills and experience working with non-profit organizations to help lead the Foundation and build upon the progress we’ve made in recent years,” says Foundation President David Bricker.

MRF Names C. Hans Figi as New Executive Director

ENNIS, MT – The Madison River Foundation’s Board of Directors today announced that C. Hans Figi has been named Executive Director to succeed the retiring Richard Lessner. Lessner has served as Executive Director since 2007. Figi will assume the duties of Executive Director in January 2014.

Figi currently is working as fundraising and development consultant for a number of non-profit organizations. He previously served as Development Director of the historic Charterhouse School in Surrey, England. With his wife and two sons he currently lives on a small farm near London.

Figi is very familiar with the Madison River ecosystem, having previously worked for the Greater Yellowstone Coalition in Bozeman. He also served on the Board of the Montana Outdoor Science School and once worked as guide for the Telluride (Colorado) Mountaineering School. He owns a home in Bozeman. Figi attended high school in Switzerland and was graduated from Carleton College, Northfield, MN in 1979 with a B.A. degree in Economics.

After an extensive search Hans Figi was selected from among more than 40 applicants as the Foundation’s new Executive Director. Foundation directors conducted more than 20 interviews with potential candidates.

“We are delighted that we were able to recruit someone of Hans’s background and qualifications for the position of Executive Director,” Foundation President David Bricker said. “He is especially interested in maintaining and building positive collaborations with all who have an interest in the well-being of the Madison River. We believe Hans has the right combination of skills and experience working with non-profit organizations to help lead the Foundation and build upon the progress we’ve made in recent years.”
