Tippets: Fly Selector, Dams on the Klamath, Pack In & Out

  • Developed over many years on the water guiding, Chad Pettrone has designed a fly selector, detailing “aquatic life that advances a fly fisherman to the next level of success.” Custom makes are available, and look for a soon-to-be-released iPad application.
  • In good news for anglers and salmon alike, the federal government has recommended removal of the remaining four dams on the Klamath River, from Northern California to Southern Oregon.  “This final report confirms that dam removal is both feasible and cheaper than any other option,” says Glen Spain of the Pacific Coast Federation of Fishermen’s Associations.
  • When on the water, don’t forget to pack out what you take in and what others leave behind.  Daniel Galhardo, Karel Lansky and Graham Moran take their limit in trash during a recent spring day of fishing on Clear Creek in Golden, Colorado.
