Costa Sunglasses rings in the new year – and its 30th anniversary – early with the introduction of three styles from its 2013 collection: Tuna Alley, Saltbreak and Cat Cay.

Tuna Alley offers a large, wrap-around fit to protect against outside glare. It features front frame vents to alleviate lens fogging, as well as a no-slip interior lining to keep the sunglasses comfortably in place all day. Tuna Alley is available in tortoise, matte black, white, crystal and the new blackout frame colors, in the full spectrum of patented Costa 580™ lenses. It retails starting at $169.

Saltbreak provides a large frame fit with performance features such as a no-slip interior lining and temple tips for a “forget-they’re-on” fit. It’s available in tortoise, matte black, silver, white and the new blackout frame colors, and retails starting at $179.

Cat Cay, named for an island near Bimini known as the birthplace of bluefin tuna fishing, combines superior performance with the ultimate value, starting in price at $129. It features front frame vents to alleviate lens fogging, no-slip nose pads, and includes an open slot in the sunglass arms to attach a gripper retainer cord. Cat Cay is available in tortoise, shiny black, and the new blackout and sky frame colors.

Each of the new styles is part of Costa’s core performance sunglass category, with signature features such as a nearly indestructible co-molded injected nylon frame construction, sturdy integral hinges and a lifetime warranty against manufacturer’s defects.

All Costa sunglasses are 100 percent polarized, and protect against harmful UVA and UVB rays. Its patented 580 lens technology offers unparalleled polarization and razor sharp clarity by blocking yellow light at the 580 nanometer from entering the eye. Costa’s 580 lenses are available in optically-ground glass (580G) or super lightweight, impact resistant polycarbonate (580P). Lens colors include gray, copper, amber, sunrise, and blue, green and silver mirror.

Tuna Alley, Saltbreak and Cat Cay are also available with Costa’s authentic prescription (Rx) sun lenses, creating the sharpest, most clear Rx sunglasses available on the market today. Costa’s Rx sunglasses come with a one-year warranty.

“It’s our 30th anniversary in 2013, and we’re pulling out all the stops to celebrate,” said Chas MacDonald, president of Costa. “We’ll introduce 13 new styles, including these three new performance sunglasses. We’ll launch 15 new frame colors, like blackout and Realtree AP™ camo , and several translucent hues. We’re increasing our Rx sun lens capacity and expanding our apparel line. 2013 is shaping up to be Costa’s biggest year yet.”
