Small businesses haven’t had an easy go of it in the economic environment of the past few years, but Montrose, Colorado-based Scott Fly Rods has annually seen sales and profits grow. And in an interview with Gus Jarvis of The Watch Newspaper, sales and marketing manager Jake McKittrick talks about what is behind their success.

“The backbone of this company is our workers. Their attention to detail is exceptional. The quality control is exceptional. And for many of them, it’s a labor of love, a love of fly fishing.” says McKittrick. “Everyone is passionate about what they do here.”
