In 1885 in Sanibel Island’s Tarpon Bay, William Halsey Wood caught the first ever tarpon on a fly rod and reel. With a split cane rod, he landed a 93-pound tarpon, revolutionizing sport fishing and changing fly fishing forever. “Silver King,” written and produced by Lynne Howard Frazer, and narrated by Peter Thomas, tells the story on WGCU Presents.
