Video Hatch: “Homewaters Require Vigilance”

Anglers, river stewards and commercial fishermen are featured in this video voicing their opinion on protecting wild steelhead and salmon populations on Oregon’s Sandy River.  After spending millions of dollars on dam removal and habitat restoration on that river, harmful hatchery fish still remain, says the group.  John Larison, well-known fly fishing expert, thinks that eliminating the hatchery is a no-brainer.  “The science of this is of the slam-dunk variety,” he says.
