For the 8th time, Tibor Reels has been awarded the International Game Fish Association’s World Record Achievement Award for most world records set on their tackle in the fly division.  With 28 new world records taken on Tibor gear in 2011, the company now has almost 800 world records—the most out of any fly fishing reel manufacturer world-wide.

A family-owned business, Tibor (pronounced TEE-bor) Reel Corporation has been a leader in the design and manufacture of the high-quality fly fishing reels for over 35 years. After escaping Soviet controlled Hungary and immigrating to the U.S. in 1958, master machinist, fisherman and founder Ted “Tibor” Juracsik developed the legendary Billy Pate Fly Reel in 1976. In 1995, the Tibor line was launched, followed by the Tibor Light, the Tibor QC, the Tibor Spey, and in 2011, The Tibor Signature Series, in honor of their 35th anniversary.
