More Upcoming Fly-Fishing Books

  • Flies That Catch Trout, by Terry Lawton, offers the true story behind a range of fly patterns, old, new, popular and obscure, that deserve a spot in any fly-fisherman’s fly box.  Terry Lawton is the author of a few books and a regular contributor of Fish & Fly.  The book will be released June 1, 2012.
  • Stalking Trophy Brown Trout:  A Fly-Fisher’s Guide to Catching the Biggest Trout of Your Life, by John Holt, passes along secrets on “the most secretive of the trout family.”  The book contains detailed descriptions and unorthodox techniques honed in the West but sure to work in any brown trout hole.  John Holt is the author of numerous books, both fiction and nonfiction, and has contributed to many publications.  The book will be released on June 5, 2012.
  •  Fly-Fishing Guide to the Henry’s Fork: Hatches, Flies, Seasons & Guide Advice for All 80 Miles of World-Class Water, by Mike Lawson will be released on August 1, 2012.  The longtime general manager and founder of Henry’s Fork Anglers fly shop cracks the code to one of the most difficult rivers in the West.  When not guiding or overseeing the shop, Lawson is a contributing editor for Fly Fisherman magazine and often does presentations around the country.
  • Orvis Guide to Beginning Fly Tying:  101 Tips for the Absolute Beginner, by David Klausmeyer, is an easy-to-understand, user-friendly approach to tying all of the important, basic flies you need to catch trout.  The author of a large number of fly-fishing books, David Klausmeyer spends the majority of his time as the editor in chief of Fly Tyer magazine.  The book will be released August 1, 2012.
